|
|
The
case: |
Client had over 3000 personnel working on
construction site and everyday nearly 40-50 new
workers turn up as per new contracts. It was a
tedious task to maintain
contractor/subcontractor/employee-wise personal
details, for which the client was looking for as
quick, economic and easy to operate solution. |
|
Solution: |
Based on our past
experience and site study, we proposed ID
Badging system, which helped the client to track
record of employees of different departments and
different contractors by instant id-card
printing with photograph capturing using web
camera. This id-card was used by the employees,
while he/she is in the office/site premises or
when he/she enters or leaves the office/site
premises |
|
|
Apart from that
software also maintains records of employee’s
safety induction data, no. of offence records
and medical certificate information. |

| Client: |
Abu Dhabi based Oil Company
(Offshore complex) |
|
The case: |
Client had offshore complex, running a
manual permit to work system. They were facing
the following major issues with the manual
working. and following are the major issues they
were facing with existing system; |
|
|
 |
The logistics of managing manual
forms was inefficient, paper copies of
permits could easily go missing and
modifications made to authorized permits
could not be easily traced. |
 |
The paper-based system
was not transparent as
permits could only be seen
by those at the offshore
complex and onshore HSE
management had no ways and
means to get updates of the
daily operation of permit to
work system. |
 |
Final decision authority
had to refer many documents
before issuing a single
permit, to take care of
adjacent on going work. |
 |
Management of paper
permits was difficult and
often unreliable, with
ambiguous or incomplete
information being provided. |
|
|
Solution: |
After feasibility study by our safety and
software professionals, we suggested a
customized electronic permit to work system,
which shall be electronic and customized to
accommodate the existing manual permit to work
procedure, while the final output is a printed
"permit" for display at the worksite with all
the details of the work, the risk assessment and
isolation & other certificates. |
|
|
Every authorized personal get their login id
and password to access the electronic permit to
work system and allowed to add/alter data which
are defined according to his roles and
responsibility in to permit to work procedure.
However, all users of permit to work system can
read all the data of all permits, which made the
system transparent and information readily
available on time. |
|
|
New permit to work system was developed in
such a way that all the key decision makers get
the decision supporting tool in form of area map
with ongoing work status, reports or graphs. |
|
|
 |
Full view of the entire work
scenario to enable the in-charge to take
correct and fast decision |
 |
Right, definite and
quick communication with
electronic permit |
 |
Smooth flow of work,
saving time, avoiding
lengthy paper work, easy &
quickly retrievable data
bank |
 |
Electronic permits are
stored centrally in a safe
and secure location |
 |
Information can not be
tampered with once submitted
to the central repository |
 |
Provides real time
status of all permits
automatically |
 |
Immediate warning if
other permits are active
within the same area |
 |
The system configured to
issue warning via e-mail &
on screen alerts on any
pre-configured conditions |
 |

(Offshore complex) |
|
The case: |
Client was looking for a tool which will
enable their operation and maintenance personals
to get the easy reference of job hazard analysis
of same activities performed in past. Also
client was looking for the safety specialist to
visit their premises and prepare the hazards and
their precautions list in detail. |
|
Solution: |
Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) software: it is a
integration of activity, work environment,
job/post related hazards, hazard sources,
involved risk, its' counter measures and
personal protective equipment database. |
|
|
A network based application was installed on
client’s intranet, which brought JHA documents
to every desktop and work location in an
organization. User can easily access history
JHAs with the help of search engine by any
combination of criteria such as work
description, activity, hazards, etc. |
|
|
ASK-EHS safety professionals have visited
the client premise and prepared the activity and
work location specific hazards and its control
measures library. JHA software is equipped with
inbuilt data library of standard JHAs, hazards,
control measure and consequences. These library
data can be updated by authorized user for
future references. |

| Client: |
Hazira LNG Terminal & Port
(SHELL India) |
|
The case: |
The gravity of transportation is considered
high risk work, considering involvement of large
fleet of heavy trucks, with haulage of
construction material in large quantity. The
client had more than 700 trucks working for 24
hours on 120 km area with everyday 2 round trips
from source to destination. The following major
issues increased the accidents ratio as well as
operational cost in above situation. |
|
|
 |
Unauthorized personals were taking
part in transport operation (e.g.
incompetent driver, non registered
driver, helper working as driver) |
 |
Drivers were working
more than allowed duty
period |

Time Attendance & Payroll System |
|
| Client: |
Gammon India Limited |
|
The case: |
The client, a leading construction company
in India, approached us for time attendance &
payroll solution that shall help them to
calculate the worker headcount and work hours.
The client work site has got more than 4000
workers working at a time. |
|
|
The management wanted a system that shall give
details of workers’ compensation and man-hours
calculated contractor wise. |
|
Solution: |
Based on ASK-EHS past experience and
expertise with same kind of projects executed on
construction site, we have implemented the above
said project with all functionality by issuing
ID cards with barcode. These ID Cards can be
scanned on work-site gate by workers. With the
help of 03 no. of barcode scanners, all the
workers were scanning their id badge during
entry or exit from work site. |
|
|
With the help of daily login and logout
operation, software managed the contractor &
employee wise headcount as well as exact
work-hours. Based on monthly / daily wages
assigned to each worker, software generated all
the payroll reports based on Indian standards. |
